Justice league fan fic help?

so i wanted to write a fan fic useing lesser know Heroes, of the justice League but i wanted them to be Heroes that are fairly well know not any of the 7 main members. but all i could come up with are Green Arrow, Black Canary, and Zatanna was wondering what other heroes are would be good that arn't main JLA members noncomic people might be aware of?

note: i got this idea from a bad piolet epsidoe for justice league where they use the Atom, Fire and Ice like any noncomic person know who these heros and while i like fire and ice, they should never be main members. my fan fic is how i think that show should have been done since they didnt want to use the big 3.
so what heroes would you use? that you think are better know.

Don't forget that the Justice League (of America) has been around in one version or another since 1960, and a great number of characters have been members of the Justice League. Of the original founding members (Flash (Barry Allen), Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), The Martian Manhunter (Jo'nn Jo'nzz), Aquaman, Superman, and Batman) the most neglected is Aquaman.

Since I'm doing this from memory, I may well have forgotten someone, or several someones, who has/have been members of the Justice League at some point or another. Also, since you seem more concerned with cartoon vesions of the Justice League, you'll likely see different characters taking the Green Lantern and Flash slots, but you seem to be eschewing the better know Leaguers so that may not matter. There are also other characters (the Question, for example) who have appeared in "Justice League Unlimited," who you may want to consider but I'll leave that up to you. Certainly, some of the characters I mention would not be familiar to non-comics readers and some are obscure to many comics readers, and I included them because they do have history with the group.

Back to your question about who would I choose, excluding the Big Three (who I assume are Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman). Those who come to mind have mainly appeared both in comics and in other mediums (mainly cartoons), and I would recommend Aquaman, Hawkman, Atom (the latter two appeared in "Super Friends" a few times, and Aquaman was a mainstay of that group. Also Black Canary (who you had considered), Green Arrow (who you had also considered), Plastic Man (who had his own cartoon show for a couple of seasons), and Vixen (who I just happen to like a good deal, and who shouldn't be known to non-comics readers but I think there should be one exception). That gives you seven possible characters, who you could mix and match with whoever else you haven't eliminated for one reason or another.
